Very often, I would either reply to a thread, or post a new topic, and then when I click on "post new topic"..... I get the message... "Page expired" or any of 20 other similar responses.... Then anything you try, will not bring back your carefully constructed and lengthy reply or topic.....

I now keep "microsoft word" open at all times, and before I click on "Post".... I copy and paste.... saves me a lot of frustration.

its never happened to me on this forum, but has on another
crazy.gif

click the "remember me" option when you sign in.. should do the trick :)

i get it all the time despite clicking remember me.

its so annoying. After spending say 10 minutes writing an informative and lengthy post it just dissappears. even if you click the 'go back' button, it does go back but all the text has gone.

i then feel that i cant be bothered to write it all again or my mind has goine elseware and ive lost concentration.

Exactly my sentiment Nick.... the first time you write it, you expend all your energies and thought.... if you have to go back and do it... it does not come out the same.

i have had a error a couple of times but when i went back everything was still there and then i click post it does it then i check and i have double posted :p

I swear I replied to this post with a solution...
Hit CTRL and F5 while on the broken page, or clear your browse cache if that doesn't work.

ctrl and f5 is just another way of refreshing the page so if ludwig tried clicking refresh then he will get the same result with this

and doesnt clearing your browser cache just make the browser faster? since its just a collection of images ,graphics and even webpages to load sites you have been to before faster?

Indeed it does, but CTRL F5 forces redownload of images.
When you visit a web page, your computer saves all the pictures ect. on that page, probably forever.
My theory is that, at work, his old avatar has been saved, and the browser is not checking for a newer picture, so clearing the cache (or CTRL-F5) would force the browser to grab a new fresh copy of the picture, if you see what I'm getting at.

wait wait wait we have both being on ludwigs other thread about the picture and then started talking about it on the wrong one! lol
