These first 3 images are from 4 days ago. A few thought she would drop within the next day or so though oldman said she is more oversee than pregnant. I'm willing to admit that she might be overfed but I'm pretty sure she is pregnant. (could I really overfeed her that much in the 2.5 weeks I've had her and the male is nowhere near this big and I'm assuming he would be overfed too).

So, here are pics today and to me she seems less not more pregnant. These pics are harder to see since she's not currently trapped in a breeding net. She was in the breeding net since yesterday. Is it possible she had her babies in their earlier today and ate every one of them? Does she look pregnant or still pregnant? Also while the male still likes her I would say he's nog quite as obsessed with her. Before he would either be right after her or stop only briefly to chase away the Malraux black mollies. Seems like now he's ok to spend some of his time alone. Since I've heard males keep after them when they're about to drop this makes me worry that she already has. Any guesses?

This one she still does kinda look the same bug in the following one just moments apart she doesn't really look pregnant at all.

Figured a front shot would probably mean something to an expert like oldman even though it means nothing to mr so I included it.

Well, let me know what you think. And if I get this anxious over a fish what will I do when its time for mr to have kids?!

hi, yeah she looks smaller in later pics. Wouldn't worry she may have just had too much to eat. Maybe you could watch her for a few days and if you're still worried post another pic. Ok, good luck.

Well I'm not really worried about her health. She seems fine. Just that she might have dropped her babies and ate them all before I saw them. Or that oldman was right and she's not pregnant. Though I'm wondering oldman do you mean that she didn't look pregnant at all or just not ready to drop?

Im a newbie here as well, it could be either. But in my opinion, for you to get more help try your very best to take a much better picture. I posted pictures more clearer then these but were still asked to take clearer pictures. Maybe you should trap her in her net for less then five minutes, take those pictures, and release her?

Your last set of pictures look like a female closer to a drop than the first set. Although she is smaller, she is more squared off.

Ok. I did feed her peas Right when I took the first set. Maybe she was bloated and the peas helped her debloat? So she doesn't look like she just dropped then? Which is good news BC it means she didn't eat all her babies. The thing is I want some from the first few batches to survive before she crosses with the black males. But Ive decided not to net her & if I see babies I'll try to protect them. Otherwise I few a few dense clumps of fake plants where they can take refuge.

Any dense enough cover that the adults cannot easily swim through it will be good enough to protect your fry. I like to use java moss or najas grass but almost any dense cover can be used. Have you had a look through my thread, My molly's Progress, that you can link to in my signature area? It tries to help new livebearer keepers become their own best expert on their fish. You can see your own fish better than we ever can and that thread should give you some ideas of what to look for in a heavy fish. I basically took pictures of one of my females from one of her fry drops to the next while she spent her time in the drop tank. The idea was to give you an idea of what she looked like along the way so that you can judge your own fish. I am no expert but have my observations of each picture so that you might get an idea of what I thought about each day of her gestation. If you can reference that thread and compare it to what you see in your own tank, my bet is that you can judge your own fish better than I could by looking at one of your pictures.
