Does she like Him?

I jus got a new female for one of my males, and i was wonderin how we can figure out whether the female likes the male?! its not really noticing the male but the male is full flaring and wriggling on its side for her...very pretty.

well if she is darker colored betta*mg, blue, sometimes red* she will have verticle bars going up and down her body. any female will be swimming at a slight angle with her fins clinched.

I dont think my female likes my male, i cant tell if she is barred up cos she is light volored...she doesnt even look at him...he goes crazy displaying for her and flaring at her, doin all that wavey jazz, but she doesnt even care! she swims to the other side of the plastic container i hav her in when the male swims up to her...

this means i will hav to get a new female rite?

poor rejected male... haha

Well, maybe not. My first females I breed with were light colored so I couldn't see vertical bars or darkening. Some will flare at the male, and others will seem like they could ignore him. Some of the ones like yours I placed in the spawning tank and they spawned within 24 hours. Just test them out in the tank some time. If your female acts super scared in the tank, then you could tell. Some younger females get intimadated also I think. They can change their minds too. They are women of course Some weeks they like him, other times they don't.

i have the same prob here my other females react like they want to spawn the female that i want to spawn will just swim around. wont eaven eat the condtioning food i got her (adult brine shrimp) but i see her flare at the other females around her...maybe shes a lesbian?

Atleast you know she has a desire to be agressive/dominant by flaring at the other females. Maybe she doesn't like the male if she will act like that with the females. Give her another man then, or get your man another girlie.
