well i am going on holiday in the next coming weeks only for 4 days.
and i will be placing 3 kilos of live rock in the tank so it can begin to seed my sand. (cheers for previous advice on doging live sand)i have saved so much.
obviously live rock contains bacteria and other organisms. so i was wondering if i would have to place any food into the tank for it or will they eat the algae on the live rock. (not sure if this is a silly question)
obviously they need light though.

Just powerheads and water topoff to maintain salinity

for now they will be fine self sustaining themselves :)

go away come back and u should find some nice critters bugs and stuff on your rock even a few feather dusters :)

yes they will need the light as you pointed out so just stick it on a timer :D

i am only getting 2 kilo to get it started i thought that this would be packing the most bacteria and is only a couple of quid more. but after that i will go back to the premium rock unless this stuff is really good
