hey i didnt know where to ask this question but the only place i could think of was tropical fish forums
a few weeks ago i had problems with algae control in my pond, and now there is no more algae, however my neighbor still has algae.
i have goldfish (15) in my pond and my neighbor has no goldfish. my question is that, do goldfish help control algae.
i have read on a site that nitrifying bacteria 'starve' the algae causing it to die off. so basically this all revolves around cycling...is this correct?
if not how come my pond has no more algae and my neighbor still has

here is a picture of the type of algae-

yes if your pond has cylced the cycling will have helped
if you have plants they fight the algea for the nitrates or your pond get more shade then your neighbours this will also starve algea of sunlight
