Does Anyone Use Purple Up During The Cycle?

Is there any reason not to? I have been, just trying to get that color coming but I wanted to know other peoples opinions on it.

purple up = bad idea. It's an unstable/imbalanced additive that can lead to more trouble than it's worth. If you want purple coraline algae everywhere you need to chemically create favorable conditions for it which IMO are:

Calcium > 420ppm
Alkalinity > 10dKH
Magnesium > 1250ppm
Phosphate < 0.03ppm
