It's an unstable/imbalanced additive that can lead to more trouble than it's worth. If you want purple coraline algae everywhere you need to chemically create favorable conditions for it which IMO are: Calcium > 420ppm Alkalinity > 10dKH Magnesium > 1250ppm Phosphate < 0.03ppm
