Does Anyone Know Of A Cory That Eats Snails?

does anyone know of a cory that eats snails?

sorry in advance if this is a stupid question
Greetings. ALL Corys eat snails, if you would just be so kind as to smush them against the glass, first. Free food and eventually, no more snails. Even Cory fry will tear them up if you smush the snails as soon as they are large enough for you to see. - Frank

really !! sweet, i never knew that ! no more snail away for me... time to go crush CRUSH CRUSH!

Yeah Cories absolutely love snails, i remove the snail completely from it's shell drop it in & let frenzy begin

Our corys try. Usually failing. Most of our fish think they're food, then give up when they can't get in the shells.

Our bronze, Jack, likes to headbutt them at night so they fall on the floor, but we've never seen any of the corys eating snails.

Loaches eat them. We need one but our tank is too small.

I've seen my panda cories, especially the fry, go ballistic if they find a snail on the sand. They take a while, but rip them from their shells. I normally find plenty shells in all my tanks, thanks to my cories. They aren't as effective as loaches, who munch them all in days, but they do still eat them.

:D

I must feed my fish too well, they can't be bothered with snails, even the loaches. But I may do some smushing. :D

Actually the most effective way to cut back on snails is to just not feed any excess. Cut back on the food and they will died back.

I have one tank that I was overfeeding. The snail population grew enormous. I cut back and now the tank bottom is littered with shells an inch deep. Fortunately the tank is an African Cichlid tank and they like high calcium in their water..

virtually all fish will eat a snail if you squish it so they can get in. :)

What tools do you use to squash them? I feel so bad doing it though. Especially when they are bigger then limpets. :(

Oh nooooo. I use the end of a planter to squish the limpets but can't bring myself to squish ramshorns as they are bigger and more snail-like. They are beginning to munch on my plants cuz I'm cutting back on the food. Pain in the bum.
