Does Anyone Keep Turtles?

does anyone keep turtles?, iv got a spare 2f tank. and i was thinking would it be suitable for a turtle. never kept one before. so any advice on there needs is welcomed, also do they eat aquatic plants? (could i plant the turtles tank?) and do they eat fish/shrimp?

Well I currently have 2 red striped neck turtles in a 20 gallon tank with no fish but I've seen turtles with fish in there no problem they're the fish that you win at carnivals....as for plants I'm not sure and turtles are very easy to take care of it's like a fish take good care of them and they'll last you a pretty long Time

ohh right thanks =] i read they need uv light. and heaters how would you set that up?

Well I don't have a heater in there but the light heats up the water I have a thermometer in there and the water always stays around 60-70 degrees depending on where you live if it cold then yes if it's warm then no they'd be perfect household temp is good if your putting a heater I would put it horizontal....I've had my turtles for about 2 years no problem sometimes I take them out to play or so they can eat outt of there bowl very cute they're very entertaining...not much info but hopefully this helps
