I'm looking to get back into fish keeping, having been out of it for around 2 years. I don't really know where to start again. I had a 240 Litre tank which became unmanageable because of work commitments, i work shift patterns so i won't be working the same hours from week to week, so i'm wanting a lowish cost and a very size effective tank to give the living room a lift! Now i myself don't want to go too (using the word too very loosely) big but then i also know what once i get a tank (if its small) i'm gonna want to get a bigger one fairly soon after, so basically i'm looking for a tank that will be a brilliant tank to get back into it, easy to manage and maintain and something that i won't be needing to upgrade for a long while, if at all.

That brings me to the Marina Style 95, at £179.99 i can get the tank its self and the cabinet included in that price, which also includes light fittings and GLO fluorescent bulb, a Marina power filter with 3 stage filtration, a Digital thermometer, a 100W Heater and lastly the nurafin care pack.

The tank sizes up at W80cm x D30cm x H40cm.

If anyone has this tank, could you give me a little bit more detail as to what exact filter comes with this tank, and if its a good general all round tank, and is the price about right for what you get as a package? If you don't have the tank would this tank be a good fit for what i'm looking at or am i way off the mark? I'd be willing to look at any alternatives aslong as its longer in width than height as i don't want a high but narrow tank :)

Thank you ever so much for viewing this thread and attempting to help me, i really do appreciate it.

Happy bonfire night too :)

I use to have the marina 60 an personally it's a good solid choice but the filter was a HOB an I can't stand them don't know if that would be the same for that one but looking closely to the pic it looks like it does have a HOB

This brand of aquarium is good, but the filter really let's it down. Its a hob with cartridge type media that they recommend you change out at regular intervals. The filter has a very weak flow as well.
You would almost certainly want to change the filter for a good internal or external.

Can anyone reccomend a good external filter for this tank? As inexpensive as possible :)

I have the marina 95. I have kept the hob that came with the tank for a back up. I have a fluval internal filter. It does for tanks up to 120l. So I know its more than enough for the tank. However it is a bit on the big side, but good filter.
