I've got tonnes of Riccia Fluitans but I want to have a play with the Dwarf variety and I can't seem to find any. Does anyone have some that they could spare me a small ammount (it grows like mad in my CO2 setup so I won't need much).

I'd happily trade some Riccia Fluitans, Christmas Moss or Crypt Wendtii (i think its Wendtii)

Anyways - I'm UK based - let me know if you can help

Ain't got none but had to post to say what a gorgeous ram?

i have some but it's mixed in with normal Riccia. I'll send you some, if you send me a pinch of moss ;)

You'll obviously have to separate it.

is it easy to tell apart?

I'll go for that trade but I've just clipped my moss and rescaped - so it'll be a couple of weeks before I have some spare.

@ Joshua - that was when he was a baby in a brand new tank , you should see him now. I'll post a new pic when my rescape has settled.

Please do, he's pretty cute. Kind of makes my Bolivian look a bit ugly now :p.

How do you find keeping that type of ram? I only opted for my Bolivian because I was a bit concerned over the quality of the GBR/Gold Rams at my LFS.

He's from good quality imported stock as opposed to the ones that come from the large wholesalers. He was actually one of a pair that were in one of my LFS's display tanks. I talked them into selling them to me.

I find them to be very hardy and healthy fish. I do keep my stats pretty tight on my tank though and have stupid amounts of filteration (2 litres of sponge and 2 litres of ceramic in a built in sump with an additional ehiem 2224 loaded with biomedia and floss).

They are very rewarding fish to keep; but then you know this coz they're the same fish as yours just different colouring.

Absolutely gorgeous, love the corys too!

That's what my ram could of been, now I'm left with a dull bolivian ram who insists on following me around that tank and look stupid :p Nah such a personality.

See I have the same feelings as you but the other way round - whenever I see well kept bolivians I think mine look a little tacky and overbread. You'll never be happy till you have a fish house with 2000 litres of tank space... meh even then...

At that point the fish have more room than I do haha, The fish will be on the Tropical Human Forums saying I've got 1 human per 100G is that ok? I feed him 3 times daily but I think he's a little on the fat side.

I love my ram getting a black/dark substrate was the best thing I ever did.

I was originally going to go for a Dwarf Cichlid set up. But being a student and with my crap paying job I chose to go Malawi for the cheapness.

How dare you make me begin to regret that!

I have very soft water out the tap down here in Cornwall (so soft that I have to run a small bag of crushed shell in my filter to stop my CO2 crashing my pH). It made sense to go for Dwarfs - I guess up there you'll have pretty hard water so the Malawi make more sense.
