Does Anyoen Have A "g Series" Filter?

I am fed up with my filtration issues - I think my FX5 is not performing as it should be as I have been having issues with floating debris which came on suddenly after a year of no problems.

So I am going to invest in a new filter. I currently run an FX5 and a U4. I want to remove the U4 as I dont think it really helps my tank. I am contemplating a new FX5, but want to know if anyone has a "G Series" and if yo uhave any feedback one them so that I can decide what to go for.

Also, having looked at prices, if the G3 is decent, is it worth the extra £130 for the G3 over the FX5!!!! Thats a lot of extra cash!
