the borneo border sand loach below is 4" the clown is 6"
bad pic 'cause I rushed to post it.

I've had him 6 months and he shares the tank with 3 other clowns and many other species of botia. the tank is 72 gal (4ft long)

I don't have a picture, I never can get a good picture of fish but anyway.

They CAN get 12 inches but tend to only get from 8 - 10 inches in aquariums. Minimum size tank for a full grown clown loach is 75 gallons, maybe more.
