I've had my three albinos for 6 months now, no problems. They used to be very active. The last couple of weeks all three of them huddle together and seem to sleep a lot more than they used to. They're adorable - they lie right n the front of the tank now almost on top of eachother--scares me every time, I think they're all dead. Is this normal? Water is perfect, I do weekly changes.

i have 3 panda cories and they group together and sleep/chill together for ages! i think they are just lazy! they are very healthy and eat fine i wouldnt worry about it!

Hi vanvran :)

It's not at all unusual to see a group of corys just kind of "hanging out" at the bottom of the tank and from time to time swimming off to play or to forage for bits of food.

As corys get older they are likely to do this more often then the young ones, but unless that's all they do, it's no cause for alarm. You might also find that they are most lively in the mornings and evenings too. :D

ya i have 2 albino corys an 2 otos in a 10gal with a male bettas(who has addopted the otos fry an put them in a bubble nest) an the 4 otos an corys chace eachother all the time. none stop action. really funny. next time i get some more money im going to go get some more corys :D...i always thought they would be kinda boring but they looked cute so i only got 2...now i wish i had gotten 3 or 4 :p same for my otos. only im not getting more of them cuz they already have the algea in check...reminds me- i need to get more algea wafers some times next week...

My cories in one tank are a bit older than in theother one and they definitely hang about a lot more. More active after lights out as well. Whereas the babies in the smaller tank are completely hyper

My corydoras (c. sodalis) do the same, hanging together on their favorite rock. They are quite active at night though. Many catfish tend to be nocturnal so I think this is normal for them. This is why I always feed my algae wafers before bed, well after lights-out to make sure they get their fair share.
