Do you think that the female Bettas may be over-looked because of the prettiness of the males? Because my first-ever Betta was a girl, and since most of my girls can live together, then I just prefer females. ^^; I DO have one boy, too, Mr. Wimpy Fish; and although he IS really pretty and my pride and joy at the moment, I will always prefer girls. ^^;

What's YOUR favourite? Boy or girl Bettas? ^^;

Well, for me, I would just have to say girls. Girl Bettas are my absolute FAVOURITE. ^^;

i love both
Have 40+ females in my 300 litre tank - the colours are amazing in bettas thats why i love having them in the sorority
have some longer finned females in there to

everyone should remember when keeping females you need a min of 5 (books say 4 but from my own experience 5 is better)
So you can either have 1 on her own or 5+

I think it's because they show stress stripes so much in LFS. They really do look nothing then, but so pretty when they've settled in. I hope to set up a sorority next year :)

Definetley both, no way i could choose! The one male i kept was very pretty and i fell in love with him, and now i have 10 girls and love them all so much too! (; Gonna have to say both!

Male Betta reputations for being both aggressive and flamboyant have made them the star of the show (for the average person). When I decided to adopt a female, I worried that since they're not as popular that the one I would get would have been sitting on the store shelf for much longer. Luckily I found a cute little blue one who is very friendly and likes to swim up and watch me and "hang out." I've gone back to that same shop twice and unfortunetly, after a few weeks, the same other females I was contemplating getting are still sitting there. :(

I do like both males and females, but the females have shorter fins, which I feel makes them less prone to fin issues.

Eghh, not so; when females have fin-rot (as all three in my Mom's tank do right now; one is healing though, one is just starting, and one is somewhat severe. But treatment with Bettafix and Maracyn seems to help. :D

Btw, what is a sorority? ^^;

That's too bad. Hope your mom's fish feel better soon.

I love them both. Got 5 boys and 3 girls. Each have different personalities and I find girls less moody than boys, although they do tend to be less colourful.

Bettas <3

'Sorority' comes from the latin meaning 'Sisterhood'

Aah, thanks! :eek: When my current fish die in my 10-gallon I am SO setting up another sorority, like my Mom's~

Bear in mind you would probably have to upgrade your 10g before setting up a sorority. In a sorority you ideally need at least 6 females so more space would definitly be advised :)
