Somewhere in space... Wyoming for mail.
I sure do this. I have a 43 inch and 55 inch display in my living room. Normally I use the 43 inch as my computer display and the 55 inch for TV and/or videos such as movies. Both displays can be used with the computer as a dual display. This is a Windows system.

Still even when only using the 43 inch for the computer I like it to be pretty as it IS part of my entertainment setup and I like it pretty and 'clean'. I have zero shortcuts/icons on my desktops. I pretty much run my main system through the quick access part of my taskbar. For instance let's take the file explorer icon in the taskbar... I have things setup to where, if I right click on file explorer, a list of options will come up such as games, production apps, utilities, etc.. My desktop wallpapers are actually video files that cleanly loop. I have a fair number of videos that work for this and tend to switch according to my mood.

So do you do anything special?

Oh yesssssssss..... While I keep thing simple and don't use animated background etc...

On my entertainment system everything is clean and I use my own streamlined Windows that run everything in Dark mode. And has the most comprehensive set of anti publicity you can concoct.

I just installed a RTX 5080 and love it.

I don't use desktop icons either, I usually don't spend a lot of time with backgrounds except to make them black so it is easy to make out the edges of the applications.

What I would consider beautiful would be if I could escape one drive as my default save location without uninstalling it and having problems with their other software. Up until Windows 11, I didn't mind Microsoft products, but this is ugly. Every fix I find online is blocked in the next update.

I do like a clean background though, as I still use a laptop and 2 desktops, one of which is for music. Streaming algorithms are not very good if you like non mainstream styles., although the Windows software gets annoyed if you stay offline with your device.

Personally I don't install One Drive... Well actually I uninstall... Just no use for it. On the apps just select 'save as' instead of 'save'.

I would be afraid to flood my basement with that ;)

I avoid listening to westerns because of the dust it leaves in the living room.

What can I say? I like a petty display. ;)

Here is a set that probably gets used more than any other. It is my "Lord Of The Rings" set. On the left makes me think Elvin and the right I see as the entrance to Mirkwood. LOL! At least there is no impending flood about to happen. ;)

Focus could have been better and getting some reflection from a window but you can get the idea...

Actually I have nothing against Macs and have a Mac Book Air that I dual boot between MacOS and Windows among my other 5 systems. I just think that Macs are too restrictive as to available hardware. Still I consider them a viable system even if, in my opinion, over priced.

I'm split too... I prefer Windows on desktops, IOS on tablets and phones but prefer Linux on routers.

My appliances are all very old and as dumb as it can get.

If a car speaks to me just once... I immediately drill all speakers with a 3 inch hole-saw.

I also have an old Dell laptop running Linux Mint. ;)

Mint is a strange cookie... While it runs very well on my old laptop, It still supports the latest Video card and make good uses of a 28 cores intel I7, 14700K.

And I kinda love that :)
