I did a Ph test today on all my tanks and my dwarf puffer tank has a higher PH than my other two tanks. The puffer tank is the only one with terra cotta pots. Could this be contributing to a raised PH? All other perameters are normal. My other tanks are at 7.9 and the puffer tank is at 8.2. Any thoughts? Has anyone else had this happen?

I have terra cottsa potds in my 75gal and itd pH is the lowest of all my 4 tanks.

To give you an idea of variation.....my lowest pH is 7.0 and my highest is 7.8...and that is across 4 tanks.

Perhaps someone else can shed a light om why there are broad differences (similar substrate etc)

I've heard that terra cotta pots raise ph so I didn't put any in my tanks (I have high enough ph already, thank you very much) but maybe I heard wrong. I'd like to find out for sure-maybe put some water in two containers, with some terra cotta in one and let it sit a few days before testing it?
