Well as i have posted before, i am looking into getting two more bronze cories so i can mate my bronze cories. Though this question popped into my head: Do platys eat cory eggs? i also have platies in my tank and i don't want my cory eggs eaten if i ever get some. I have heard you can move eggs, but how? can't they crack or something? Can i move them into my breeding trap and if so, how? Any tips on how to spawn them faster but at the same time properly(not forcing them or something lol). I have so many questions right now since i don't want to grow unhealthy cories. Any help is appreciated! :)

I saw this pic of a bronze laying eggs on the glass so the platies will definetely find it them easy if they are laid on the glass: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/image.php?species=corydoras+aeneus&image_id=7539

I know for a fact that Platys would eat cory eggs, you can have plants and other things in the tank and the corys may put the eggs on their, not all put them on the glass some try and hid them. It really all comes down to what your cory does. You can move the eggs, because I have never had a spawn ( Working on getting my 6 pygmyies too) I really can tell you exactly what to do but I believe the eggs are sticky and you will be able to move them into a floating trap or something. Also If my memory is right you should have an air stone near were you are keeping the eggs. I have heard that cool water changes can induce spawning. Also a good diet with protein helps.

Cories will eat cory eggs too. If you want to breed them, you may think about having a separate tank for them to spawn in. Then remove the cories after the deed is done. If you research cory breeding, or ask the members on the forum who have in fact bred cories, they will also say that you have to remove the eggs from the parents or vice versa. Online research will tell you how to care for the eggs.

Moving the eggs into a breeding trap or another tank isn't a problem for me since i have a backup 5 gallon tank just in case something happens. The backup tank has a plant a cave some gravel, small heater and filter. Maybe i can move the female into the other tank or breeding trap when she's carrying the eggs or move the eggs when they are laid, but how do i move the eggs when they have been laid?

Wait until they harden. You can roll them off with your finger (cerfully so you don't squish them) or with a razor blade.

p.s. if you do not get a response right away, its not that you are being ignored I am sure. You can actually find this information by a quick google search. Everything i have read in regards to cory breeding has come from internet resources, with only a little bit that I have actaully asked on the forum :)

yeah yesterday i spent about 2 hours researching on them i think i'm going nuts
