Do Neon Tetras Explode?

So I feed my meon tetras flakes before i feed my elephant nose fish the bloodworms, but Ive had two neon tetras i think die from eating them, theyre stomachs seem to explode from the bloodworms and I dont know what to do because I have to give my EN fish their bloodworms.

Maybe try hand feed your ENs instead?

depends on how much they eat, happened to one of my otos before but never happened before.
just like if you feed rice to birds it'll harm their stomachs and sometimes cause them to explode.
just feed your fish less, maybe only 3 times a week, and as lights out put the food in for the EN, but watch out they are known to go after small fish.

I always put it in at night well have been for the 5 days ive had them, and now if you read my other thread, only 2 left , but i cant hand feed because i just got them.

if you are using freeze dried bloodworms, you should put the bloodworm into a container of water first, shake the container and let it expand first before feeding to your fish.

I feed frozen, I think their just naturally to big for their stomachs and they just burst.
