do mystery snails not like melafix?

i have a golden mystery, and he climbed up on top of the heater when i added melafix. is thisnormal or is it harmming him

they don't like it. put the snail in a bucket of clean dechlorinated water with an airstone and leave it there until you have finished treating the tank.

His shell is slowly thinning and turning yellow. There is a noticeable ridge between colors, only happened in last day or so. I haven't kept them before so I don't know much about them. My ghost shrimp were "cleaning"'it earlier, is it dying?
