I currently have two 39w T5's and an increasing stag algae problem. So in my intimate wisdom I decided to reduce the T5's to 6 hrs a day, and use the soft blue LEDs in the evening. Now I am not sure whether this will continue to contribute to my algae problem. Can anyone offer any advice

I'd be very suprised if blue leds are contributing to your algae problem stag algae could be too much light - make sure no direct sunlight on your tank also lack of co2/nutrients?

Thanks for the response. I have today decided to flourish excel to the tank on a regular basis to promote the uptake of the nutrients by the plants. This raises another question of whether to increase the lighting again due to the CO2, what are your thoughts
