Just wondering, are these life bearers schooling fish? assuming the tank is big enough and there are enough of them.

Hi, I have 10 Mollies and they do not school normally. They gather together when they are stressed. They might act differently in a larger tank. My present one is about 20uk gals my new one will be about 65uk gals. They do act strangely sometimes, they all face the same way and stare at nothing! :) I have also had Platies and Guppies in the past and they did not school either.

I'd call them sociable rather than schooling. They do go strange and morose if kept on their own, definitely need company of their own kind, and do interact a lot though not in a tight school. I find platys and guppies also socialise with each other; have kept 1 platy female very happily with 2 female guppies.
