Do loaches dig up plants?

I want to get some loaches to eat the snails in my tank. I will probably get either YoYos or Botia Dario. I really want Botia Striata, but I doubt I'll be able to find them. Some sources say they dig up plants, and some say they don't disturb plants. Does anyone here have experience with these species in planted tanks?

I know cichlids can be a pita when they rearrange the substrate. Are loaches this bad?

I have had no trouble with any of the
botias I keep digging up plants.

All my loaches are in planted tanks with sand as the substrate. I've never had them dig up the plants though.
