Please reply I'm thinkin about gettin corys. Also will they nibble on live plants. :/ Please reply.

They will graze over the plants looking for microscopic life but will not damage them.

We have a couple of corys in our tank. They love the algae tablets we got for our pleco. They also scour the bottom, getting tropical fish flakes, freeze dried tubifex worms, and the occasional frozen brine shrimp we feed as a treat. Ours have been really easy to care for. We have a sand substrate and they love to dig around in that looking for food but did well with the gravel we had in there previously. They are excellent in a community, never bothering anything else in the tank and are very active and playful.

thanks for all the advice. I'm gonna get me some corys. Oh and by the way Allie send my regards to Les. He has almost told me everything I know. :D

Just an idle observation:

My bronze corys, bought at different times from the same store, seem to be very high strung, for corys. They practically bounce off the walls of the tank when someone comes up the stairs or walks by the tank. My peppered corys, on the other hand, would not notice if a house fell next to them, they'd just keep grazing.

Maybe bronze corys need the group factor more (I have 2), I don't know, but I definitely think corydoras paleatus (peppered) is a more laid-back fish than corydoras aenus.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Oh, almost forgot, I feed them TetraMin sinking tablets or Hikari sinking tablets. That, and they clean up what the others let fall (flake and occasionally freeze dried bloodworms).
