Ive just purchased a full RO kit to go under my sink, im mainly going to use this for things like the kettle and obviously the fish tank, im just wondering, does it still need to be treated with tap water conditioner even after being through the RO system ?

as fish don't live in pure RO and you'll end up mixing RO with tap....so you need to dechlorinate whatever amount of tap water used

Yes I understand that, however my tap water contains silicates which in turn is causing a diatom issue, the intention of the RO system is to get rid of those silicates and hopefully the diatoms will die off, ive tried everything up until now, blackout for 3 days etc, which did work, all for about 2 days and then they started coming back again, phos removers, UV's etc.

No, you don’t have to use water conditioner. I never did when I used RO for my saltwater tank.

My prediction is that the use of RO water won't solve the algae problem, but I hope you can figure out how to solve it.
