Hi so far I have been putting a piece of cucumber in my tank about 2/3 days, and occasionaly feeding algae wafers. Is this enough for my BN? I have never actually seen it eat the cucumber! I'm not sure what else to try feeding?

I feed my loach and BN "catfish sinkers", and both seem to like them. I rarely see the BN feeding as it is very shy and hides when I am in the room!

Try it on some sinking catfish pellets; all fish seem to love them (even the ones that aren't catfish, lol!) You could try different vegetables too; there's not much goodness in a cucumber, seeing as it's like 98% water. Lightly cooked carrot, sweet potato (NOT normal potato) or fruits like mango usually go down well with plecs of all kinds :)

my BN eat cucumber and courgette. They also nibble on prebolied carrot and normal potato. If they were not used to being fed veg by previous owner /LFS it may take them a while a while to realise tht veg is food! Give them time and they will eat it -my common plec took weeks of persusion before she ate veg and only because she saw her tankmates eating it first.
