Hi,

I have a 60L tank with a fluval u2 filter, i have 3 chines sucking loaches 2 orandas and a black moor. I live in a cold house with no central heating. I tend to have a coal fire on at night
which tends to raise the temperate of the tank to around 72-73, and in the day im guessing its pretty cold. It will probably reach freezing throughout the winter. Do i need to purchase a heater? Im abit bother that the sudden changes in temperature over a 24 hour period might harm the fish. The tank has been setup for about 6 months now.

Any help would be great,

Many Thanks,
Danny

you could run a small heater to stablise the temperature fluctuations :good:

What heater would you recommend? I want something that would auto shut off if it broke as my friends fish ended up cooking as the heater went on full heat by itself.

Cheers

hi
sounds like your friend was unlucky
there is loads to choose from have a look around on google for fishtank thermostat heaters with safety shut off,
then you can choose one for the size of your tank
