where is the white stuff on their fins? my 2 I got from the same place a few days apart have white edging to their fins and I thought it was fin rot, but it is the colour. unless they have had fin rot and it has healed.

Without a picture or a better description there is no way we'll be able to tell you what it is.

Ich looks like little grains of salt. It can be on the body or the fins.

If it looks kind of fuzzy it could be fungus.

Some bettas are white, or have some white, naturally.
