I have a 50 US gallon coldwater tank. I have a Millennium 3000 Wet/Dry multi-filter (with biofiltering action) on it. It pumps 295 gallons (1100 liters) per hour. It says its for 20-100 gallon tanks (which is a pretty wide range  ). Is this enough? I do water changes once a week, I don't really keep track of how much I take out, no more then 25% though. I always have 0 ammonia and nitrites (if its not at 0 its very low) and under 10 nitrates. My tank inhabitants include: 4 fancy goldfish, 11 danios, 2 WCMMs, 3 bronze cories, 1 weather loach and one small common pleco (he will be moved if he causes any problems).

As you know goldfish are one of the messiest fish around and with the plec its going to be like having another goldie.
Filtration ideally should be at least 10 times the tank capacity when you are stocked below or at the limit and then add another 50 gallons for each additional fish over this. If you can afford it then another similar filter would be a great addition to your filtration already being used.
Your little fish wont be making much impact on the filtration you are using.

So would I need another millennium 3000, or could I get something a bit smaller. Its just that it was almost $100 and my parents will kill me if I spend that much on another filter again...my moms not going to be pleased with the electricity bill either :S But thats what I get for overstocking.

Not knowing the types of filters you have then its down to you what you get, even adding an extra 100 gallons is going to improve things.
You arent what i would call overstocked but you shouldnt add any more fish.

I thought I was way overstocked :S Considering the goldfish take up 40 gallons alone, plus atleast 50" with the other fish (but thats including the pleco, and I won't have him when he's full grown). I do have a 5 gallon filter that I know is working, I had to take it off my 5 gallon as it was way too powerful for my baby fish. I have a few other filters that I got with the 50 gallon and 18 gallon, not sure if they would work though. I'll have to check it out.
Hmmmm...but if I was overstocked, wouldn't my nitrates be higher? They've never gone above 10, which I thought was odd. Maybe I need to buy a new test kit.
And thanks for the help!
