hey, im going 2 have a mini pond pics below i was wondering do i have 2 have a filter pump and plants in it ?

I would have thought the filter would be a must but that really is small, what were you thinking of keeping in there?

just some small goldfish about 4 inchs

Were you planning on building a much larger pond in the future for when the goldfish reach adolescence? They can grow to a foot long each (if you are talking about the standard shaped ones, fancy goldfish should not be kept outdoors to my knowledge). And yes, goldfish are heavy waste producers, you will need a very good filter. I'm also not sure how they would fair in something so small in winter.

I hope someone who knows a little more than me will come and post. I have kept golfish for a few years but I only have my own experience to go on. I do know however that standard goldfish will out grow that in a surprisingly short amount of time.
