HELP!

My orange male balloon mollie has something wrong with it

The fin along its back where it attaches to its body has gone red like it is bleeding. What is this? It looks really sore. Is there anything i can do.

i dont think its bleeding, dont worry about it just prob a little infection. try treating it with a non chemically based produclt like "melafix" or something simular.

Sorry but it dont sound good. Whats your stats? It sounds like what my guppy had just before she went to fishy heaven.I was told it was bleeding internally. Treat as advised but check your water. Good luck

Need stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, size of tank in gallons or litres, sounds like septicemia, melafix is no good for septicemia, you will need an antibiotic, once septicemia has progressed hard to cure.
Can you issolate the sick fish.

Well its been four days and he is still alive and looks as happy as always, the problem doesnt seem to be bothering him at all

Just wondered if the inflammation could be anything to do with mating. He has been having an awful lot of sex recently.

Septicemia. No question in my mind. They will probably act fine for while but by the time they start acting sick it's too late. Treat now and save yourself some heartache. Good luck! :)

I agree. I would isolate the fish into a hospital tank, add aquarium salt and treat for septicemia. SH
