Got rid of works RTBS yesterday- he looked a lot happier when he was in a larger tank and his ex tankmates have breathed a fishy sigh of relief!

I replaced him in an exchange with 5 little neons and 3 bronze corys.

There is 1 normal cory and 2 albinos.

The albinos particularly keep swimming up the tank into the bubbles from filter, swimming hard into then sailing back to the end of the tank on the current and down, where they swim up and into the bubbles again!

Are they playing or could they be sick?!!

Hi Maroonostrich

My clown loaches, otos, cories (so far not the plecs--they just suck wood :p ) all do what you are describing. Sometimes I think it's play--they're fun :fun: but I think that there is also something about grabing air. :dunno:

But they aren't sick, I'm pretty sure. I love to watch my cories in sync and the clowns too.

Maybe they're looking for the exit, because my lemons do it too. :look:

Thanks JS, that's very reassuring! They are so persistent about it, they just seem to love being blown around and they could easily get out of the way- the little normal bronze chap hardly does it at all!

It's so cute to watch, I just hoped while we weren't all standing smiling at them they were trying to tell us they felt ill!!

I have 5 Albino Corys that do the same thing. The swim along the glass in a school up and down the glass, so it must be normal...

Hi Maroonostrich, I just read a thread where Teelie mentioned that cories gulp air to aid digestion. :)
