Do Copper Test Kits Work?

Hi, I want to know if I have copper in my tap water, and was wondering if the various copper test kits for sale actually work well?

I would say that you will have trace ammounts of copper in your tap water because most of the plumbing in your house will be copper.

The main incoming supply may be lead or MDPE depending on how old the houes is.

Ironically enough, if the house is old enough you might even have cast iron pipes

In massive quantities, yes, in trace amounts, no

so if there are cast iron pipes, would there be a lot of leaching into the water?
