Sometimes I'll be looking at my bettas and sometimes I'll notice them open their mouths as much as they can then once the close it their gills kinda open alittle like their yawing. Is that what this is? Also sorry if I didn't describe it good enough.

Yes and i read it can be due to high nitrites or nitrates, so check your water.

Can't, don't have a test kit. Sorry I worded this wrong. I meant to say with one of my previous bettas.

not always nittites or nitrates, that is mearly a symtom, all fish yawn, pretty much for the same reasons we do, i think its kinda funny, becase it kinda gives them a more human like personality, i have one fish that yawns quite often, and others that dont yawn at all, all is well in their water thogh

When a fish yawns check water quality as it a sign it's not good, also meant to say if it's yawning alot.

To repeat guppydude, that's not always the case with bettas in particular. Mine get 100% water changes every other day...their water is immaculate and they still yawn.

N/M, I see the edit now. It sounded so "matter of fact" at first

I'm yawning now tired, they must need a sleep, lol.

You mean this :p

i was trying to get some close/head shots of my bettas, and that what he thought of my photo shoot
