I'm a college student, and I'm driving home tomorrow. I read about people shipping Bettas in the mail, so does that mean that they travel well? I just want to know what to expect when I get home with my little guy. Anyone have any experiences they can share?

Get a cup with a lid, or a bag, put about half a cup of water and the betta and he should be fine  Leave lots of air room. I'd keep him in my cup holder but don't let the heater or ac blow on him.Or put him in a cooler. They travel like champs

i'll actually be taking my 3 guys home with me tommorow as well. They have made the trip sucessfully several times already... I think one of my guys got a little stressed last time but he bounced back quickly. I put mine back into the plastic cups I bought them in, fill the water halfway, and put the lid on. Just try and put them on a flat surface, I wrap a towel around them so they don't slide... good luck on the transport.

Mine seemed fairly stressed, but he got over it and now he's fine, after two two-hour trips in the car back and forth from university to home and back.

I'd say they're one of the only fish you can bring home for the weekend :p so they travel better than any other fish. Like anything else strange, it will bother the fish, but I don't think it will kill him.
