Right tonight im going to be cleaning up my 6 gallon tank from all the algae, and then start working on it.

I have a nice brand new light unit for a two foot tank, but i wont be able to use it till i create a new hood for the 6 gallon tank as the old clear seal hood wont take a big light.

So getting to the point at long last, do bettas need a light?

they dont absolutely need one, but i got one that i keep on during the day fro em. it does seem to make them a bit more active then they were in a bowl but without light they were doing fine to.

So if i had a goldfish bowl with a betta in, no gold fish... If i got a reading lamp and shined it on top would that be ok?

This is an example btw, i dont have a goldfish bowl lmao.
