I have a female betta who is 2 1/2 (a guess from when I got her) and is a bit paler than when I first got her. She is healthy otherwise, but I was wondering other old bettas had the same thing. The red on her got paler to more of a dark pink and her turquoise is not as dark as it used to be. Overall she is not as active as when I first got her but can swim fast if she wants too.

keep an eye on her. she may have some marble in her genes, and will change colors her whole life. it's pretty interesting, actually. but, females seem to stress easy. i just got one, who was the prettiest black and red in the tank. then, while in the bag, she turned creamy brown and red. now, two days later, she's not settled in all the way, but has gotten blue on her. o3o

I found with mine they grew old, faded and some even got old mens beards, as long as she is still happy you have nothing to worry about.
