Will barbles(if thats the right name!) grow back?

6.jpg

One of my corys, I changes out all of my gravel to sand today so my little corys look much happier but will they get their barbles back??

Thanks

Hi Zoepop :)

If his general health is good now, there is a good chance they will grow back. They might not ever be as long as they were, but he'll be OK.

Thanks,
I felt terrible when their little barbles were looking tattered so got the gravel out as soon as I could but generally they are all healthy and feeding well, pleased they should be ok thanks

I made the same mistake. I had large sized gravel and didn't think it would affect them, but after I noticed their barbels start getting shorter, I immediately switched to a fine sand. They seem sooo much happier now. I feel so bad for them.

Oh god, I don't think my new Pygmys have barbels .

I mean they are there but they're really short like in that pic. I assumed it was coz they're so small/young. Is that not right?
