my platies are due in like 2 weeks and im getting ready to make a tank for the fry. so im just wondering...do the fry need air bubbles/filters? thanks. :p

Preferably a filter, yes. Sponge filters work quite well for fry tanks.

When you say air bubbles...do you mean an aerator with a bubble wand, or something along those lines?

If you mean a bubbles as in an air rock I'd say yes, they help put air in the water. Unless you're using some other method of putting air into the water I'd get a steady flow of air bubbles going!

I use sponge filters run from an air pump in my rearing tanks.

U should at least use a sponge filter as this dose not herm the fry, most power filter will trap and kill them.

and an air stone will help but will do nothing to help filter the water.
