Diy Trickle Filter

Hi peeps im looking at making a trickle filter i have got a 2400lt ph pump (going to be regulated with a valve) for the return to the tank and a powerhead pumping to the filter i would just like some advice on what to use as filteration and in what order to put them into the compartments have got some fine gravel and some course and also loads of these in various shapes and sizes

a cheap soloution to filter wool works a treat holes of different sizes...

or some diagrams would be nice cant seem to find much on the net

my tank is a 36x12x15 comunity tank
