I have made a DIY CO2 system with a small bottle in the middle in case of overspill.

However, it has been running overnight and there are no bubbles going into the tank, which leads me to believe that the middle bottle is leaking.

Does anyone have any advice how to make the seals airtight - I have covered the pipes in silicone sealant, but it still appears to be leaking.

Any ideas?

Sorted it.

It turns out that the bottle wasn't leaking after all.

However, with my tank being so deep (22"), I had the bottom of the airline by the filter inlet, which is 2/3 way down. There wasn't enough pressure in the CO2 for it to get that far down the tank.

I have moved the co2 outlet higher in the tank, and it's bubbling away nicely. (not going through the filter as hoped though :( ). I have put an airstone on the end to make the bubbles smaller, and placed it under the filter outlet so hopefully some co2 is getting dispersed and not all bubbling up to the surface.

Might have to get a proper diffuser though - not sure about a DIY one...

Hopefully this info may be useful to other DIY'ers.
