Diy External Filter..

Hi everyone... I have a small 5 gal tank that i was going to set up with some mosses and a few stones etc as a show tank in the bedroom... i then got the idea of making my own external filter using the pump and head part of an old rena filstar internal filter and a few pipes and a airtight container....what i want to know is could i use apoxy resign to secure the filter head to the lid because all that is holding it in place right now is silicone which is around the cord..

It hasnt got all the filter media in place yet...

Thanks micko...fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.. i have tested it and it does work and the flow rate is quite good and so far no leaks woohoo... now want to try find a bigger filter head to make another larger one for my 20 gal tank...in total it cost me under £10.

Just a quick update on the DIY filter... I have it all set up and running and it looks good even if i do say so myself!!

Started the cycling process today so hope all goes well and will have it stocked in 6 weeks or so...
