Hello, I have a few things that I would like to paint and place in the aquarium, one is ceramic, one is terracotta and the other is a coconut cave that I want to paint darker (fadded quite a bit after boiling. Is there an aquarium/fish safe paint that anyone could reccomend. I have craft paint (acrylic) that says it is non toxic but not specifically non toxic for fish, would this be ok to use? Also, I would probably need to varnish the items when they are done, is there any polyurthene/varnish that is fish safe?

Thanks

I know what you mean, I have been researching it on the internet now for a couple of weeks, and have seen lots of people do it, but no where does it mention the type of paint or varnish/proctor they use. So I thought I would check here to see if anyone has done something simillar to see what products they used.

Yeah and I suppose lots of decorations are painted so there must be something that's safe. Hope someone can help :good:

I did find an on-line store, it is a lady that makes and sells her own aquarium decorations. Some were painted, I emailed her to see if she could shed some light, but that was over a week ago...I guess she doesn't want to share her "trade secrets" Hopefully I will have more luck here...I usually do :good:

There is a spray paint-I think its called krylon fusion that I used once in my tank. It caused no problems, but I don't know of any paints that you would use a brush that I would risk trying.
