Fish Herder
I got me juices flowing now!
(can I use window panes to make smaller aquariums? Not this tank but for future referance.)
12 inches tall x 18 inches wide x 72 inches long.
It will be a river bottom tank.I'll have "exposed" roots "growing" out of the water.
Natural stones/sand/gravel on the bottom.
Made of plywood and glass,unless I choose acrylic.
Natural species found in Floridas waters, (hey I'm a floridian, I want a piece of our great outdoors in my house!)
I used a thing to calculate what I'll need (thanks to this forum mind you!)
Tank Information
Material = Plywood w/ Glass
Tank Height = 12"
Tank Width = 18"
Tank Length = 72 "
Plywood w/ Glass Thickness = 3/4"
Approximate Gallons = 67
Cut List:
3/4" Exterior Grade Plywood
Bottom = 72 " x 18"
Front = 72 " x 11 1/4"
Back = 72 " x 11 1/4"
2 Sides = 11 1/4 " x 16 1/2"
2 Top Brace = 16 1/2 " x 6"
1/4 inch Glass Front
Glass Front = 70 x 9 1/4
It will have PLENTY of room for my wild babies, (loads of mosquito fishies/crayfishies and something.....else......not quite sure yet, give me some suggestions! hehehe.
There is just something about a river bottom that really puts me at ease.
I have a small five gallon set up like this, and even for it's size,it looks awesome.
( due to me being broke all the time,LOL, this wee project will be a long time in actually coming...unless I get lucky and my Buddy drops by and has this stuff laying around,hehhe."old family friend that "adopted" me before i was born,much to mum's dismay,LOL")
(this link rocks!)
