Hi there, I started my first serious planted tank 2 days ago.
I'm running the nutrafin DIY CO2 kit with the recipe pinned above (I'm using a tsp of yeast) into one of those spiral ladders ( http/www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...roducts_id=1271 )
After less than 48hrs my CO2 test kit (Ferplast C02 test kit http/www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...products_id=453 )
is showing 60mg/l!!!!
mg/l is the same as ppm right? Is it possible to get this amount of CO2 in the water without a drop in pH? I'm still reading a pH of 7.
I planned to slowly increase my lighting until 30ppm (or mg/l) was reached to avoid algae. With the results i'm getting now i should be able to crank up the lighting to 4WPG with a 10hr photoperiod, correct?
This all seems a bit too good to be true.... + i don't think any fish and shrimp i add in the future would be happy with a stable CO2 of 60ppm!
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Thanks
Morgan
