I made my diy co2 kit a few days ago, 1 2ltr plastic bottle feeding into a smaller 300ml bottle as a bottle checker. Aquarium sealent used all over the kit.
I then filled the bottle 3/4 the way with water, added 2 cups of sugar and 1 teaspoon of dried active yeast (i activated the yeast first in 1/4 cup of lukewarm water, a bit of sugar and a lot of stirring). Now I'm getting a reaction about 12 hours after connecting the bottle to my kit, I'm now getting maybe 1 bubble into my bubble counter every 2 seconds, however nothing is coming out of the ceramic reactor.
I thought that maybe it just needed time to build up enough pressure, but nothing seems to be happening. If I squeeze the plastic bottle then lots of small bubbles come through the reactor so I don't think it's necessarily a leak anywhere. Maybe I just bought some bad yeast?
I've read from other people here who are getting 2/3 bubbles per second. I'm just wondering if I should go for that number with a new mix, or weather it's possible that the co2 is diffusing through the ceramic reactor without any bubbles appearing?
