So I have added a DIY Co2 system to my Betta tank, I have the DIY method about 6 months ago for my 80l, with a regular airstone, and the bubbles where small enough, almost micro, coming out that they almost all dissapated by the time they reached the top.
The Betta tank being 22l is much shallower, so I decided I needed a better method of diffusing the Co2. I took a cheap plastic syringe, cut it at the 1ml mark, ripped up one of my sister cotton cosmetic pads and jammed it in. I attached the output end of the syringe to the silicone tubing and then fastened it to sit upright under the baffled filter output using an old heater suction cup bracket and a elastic. I
then tested it with a very low blow pressure.. HUGE bubbles. So back to the airstone  any tips on that?

My other question is my recipe. I use a 591ml pop-bottle
- add 1 cup sugar
-fill halfway with hottest water out of tap, apprx. 104f
-shake until milky white water and sugar dissolved
-add 1/4 teaspoon baking soda (help stop ph swings if one because 2 amanos)
-shake until dissolved
-1/4 teaspoon yeast, and pinch of sugar, allow to sit in shallow dish of warm water for ten mins, add to bottle, shake vigorously.

Thats my recipe i won't know when it kicks in unless it does before i work or hasn't when i get home.

Feedback, tips, tricks, greatly appreaciated.

P.S. There is a gas separator bottle.

fag filters work well, and fit in normal airline i used them on mines
more bottles the better, long if the co2 is the same,  e.g 4 1L bottles is better than 2 2L ones  (changing at regular times)
i used 200gs of sugar for my system, i ran 4 2L bottles 1 table spoon of yeast + a shot glass of old mix from the previous bottles and just filled it up to a mark for water

uarujoey! why didn't i think of checking his channel.... and mike i'm adding another bottle i just didn't have a t connector  or extra airline tubing

there cheap enough :p tbh your better off going with a fire extinguisher

i'd rather buy a paintball co2 kit then go with the fire extinguisher method, as i seem to be super accident prone
