could you use a glass jar as a bubble counter, for example a coffe jar perhaps,
for example, from nutrafin canister,to coffee jar, then from jar to diffuser ladder,or is best to use a plastic bottle?
thanks for any info

You could use anything really, but you just need to make sure that the lid will hold under pressure, and that you seal it so you don't loose CO2. The small plastic bottle is probably the easiest though, as the screw cap seals quite nicely and its easy enough to drill a few holes in the cap (softer, less brittle plastic).

Its either that or you stump up £4 for a nice glass one. One on ebay right now from hong kong about to sell for 99p plus £3 postage (with a glass check valve). Tempted by it myself :)

Good to know... bidding on it :p

The same ebayer has some cheap looking lilly pipe sets too. Tempted, if I can figure out what diametre my Tetratec EX700 pipe work is! I'm assuming 17mm ?

mines from Singapore though, I wish I had a bigger filter mine has too narrow tubing for most if not all lilly pipes :(

I think I worked out my tubing's internal diametre is 12mm. Its a little confusing, I wish there was a standard measure of internal only or external only...

Oh well, I'm now the proud owner of 2x diffusers and a bubble counter from that ebay store :)

thanks for the info much appreciated
