DIY Betta Pond

next summer id love to try raising a spawn outdoors in a kiddie pool or something...

i like the idea, the only thing id be worried about thogh it local wild life (birds, cats, ect.) trying to eat him, maybe put sumthing around it to keep them away.

somone already did that on forum....so call

His name is Yeevia........he use to chill around here but iono wat happen :dunno:

i could give u the link to see cool pics

DD~ hmmm, the cover is interesting. Would it stop bugs and such, because you want those around. Or is it just to prevent the odd predator?
One guy I know who keeps his outside has a huge racoon problem, and since the bettas hang out near the top they are an easy target. I don't know what kind of small critters lurk around in Australia though....but I bet they're interesting.

Well i was looking at a DIY shop and there were some mesh net type things that are big enough for bugs to get through and small enough to stop cats etc from getting in.

I live in a suburbian area so the worse i see is a small gecko/lizard and a garden spider or the odd big one but other then that, my main concern are the cats, im going to ask people around my house if they have cats etc, and if they do i'll ask them to watch so the cat doesn't bring home a fish for dinner :p

Other then that, i should be fine, and it wont cost more then $15 :D
