i really wanna make a 3D background for my 50gal tank, like THIS GUY , but its already filled with water, fish, decor ect and been running for quite a while now...

has anyone done this ? is it still possible ??? how am i suppose to install it when my tanks already running ??? it'll be a right mess about if i have to take everything out, install it, leave for dry, then putt everything back in  is there an easier way ? does the background have to be glued with silicone to the back ?

suggestions/advice appreciated, thanks.

Instead of using polystyrene or Styrofoam you can attach rocks etc to a metal plate with silicone. Leave it to cure then simply lower it and secure it to the back of the tank.

The only problem once the tank if full of fish and stuff this can become hard with substrate etc stopping you getting it level. You also need to make sure its flush with the back of the tank so fish can’t get trapped behind it.

It just becomes very difficulty once the tank is full of water and sand etc.
