I used normal cement and sharp sand for mine, i was woryed about this at first and afted doing some recearch on the www, i found some info on this quikcret etc that its just normal concreat, with a trade name.

The trick was to cure it properly with water in the tank, basicly doing regular water changest to get rid of the free lime out of the cement.

Ill give it a go. then. Im gonna leave it to cure for a week, then put it in the tank and fill with saline water, with a powerhead circulating, and gradually change water over the weel. Sound enough?

A week might be ok sometimes longer, you should find the PH will rise, and fall as you do your water changes, when it settle's you should be ok.
